Position Overview
The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our educational facilities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position collaborates closely with school personnel and external service providers to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Custodial Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all school facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas.
- Respond promptly to requests from staff for maintenance and cleaning services.
- Set up and clean cafeteria areas before and after meal services.
- Monitor the performance of cleaning and landscaping services, addressing any immediate concerns with the School Operations Leader.
Maintenance Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs and addressing plumbing issues.
- Assist in moving equipment and furniture as needed.
- Perform minor repairs on buildings and fixtures to ensure functionality.
General Responsibilities
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and report issues as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of cleaning methods, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the School Operations Leader, particularly during school breaks.
- Adhere to a structured cleaning schedule while remaining flexible to accommodate school activities.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently.
- Ensure a respectful environment during instructional hours by minimizing noise and disruptions.
Working Conditions
This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to various environmental factors. Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy objects, as well as frequent walking and bending.
