Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Educator Medical Specialist to join our team at Ochsner Health. This role will be responsible for implementing educational goals, assessing learning needs, and evaluating education and training activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the need for, plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates education and training activities.
  • Assists all personnel to acquire, maintain, or improve psychomotor, cognitive, and effective learning that will provide continuously improving patient care outcomes and/or improve processes and management systems.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinates training facilities and other resources.
  • Functions as a performance consultant.
Requirements
  • Required - Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Preferred - Master's degree in nursing.
  • 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to routinely manage priorities and projects involving multiple constituencies.
Work Environment

This role will be working within a healthcare setting, and there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
