Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care services to residents, including bathing, skin care, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and assist with dressing and undressing.
  • Assist with feeding and hydration of residents.
  • Measure and record intake and output of residents.
  • Weigh residents using upright, chair, and bed scales.
  • Assist in turning and positioning of residents.
  • Properly transfer residents using safe techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical equipment usage, including canes, crutches, walkers, Hoyer lifts, and side rails.
  • Keep resident rooms clean and supplied.
  • Make and change beds as needed.
  • Transport residents, supplies, and equipment as required.
  • Ambulate residents who require minimal assistance.
  • Perform skin assessments and notify the RN of any abnormalities in skin integrity.
  • Respond to resident calls and take appropriate action.
  • Collect and label specimens (urine, stool, sputum).
  • Immediately report any changes in residents' conditions or incidents to the Nursing Supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all clients, healthcare staff, and documentation.
  • Meet annual in-service requirements in accordance with facility and state regulations.

Requirements:

  • CNA certification in the state of Florida.
  • CPR certification.
