Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Experience Liaison to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. This role will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in our Autism Spectrum Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Encounter Management:
    • Deliver outstanding customer service that supports unit operations and enhances the patient experience.
    • Collaborate with referring healthcare providers and practices to ensure seamless care coordination.
    • Obtain necessary authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
    • Schedule patients and provide support throughout the patient encounter, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Check In / Check Out:
    • Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
    • Monitor daily schedules and coordinate flow with clinicians and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
    • Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing accurate records of transactions in hospital systems.
    • Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling to ensure timely and effective resolution of patient financial matters.
  • Administrative:
    • Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services as needed.
    • Provide routine clerical support as needed, ensuring the efficient operation of the department.
Requirements
  • A high school level of education, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior customer service or administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all.
