We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Faculty member to join our team at Adtalem Global Education. As a Clinical Faculty, you will be responsible for implementing the College's philosophy, curriculum, and program outcomes through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical experiences for nursing students, providing direct supervision and evaluation of their performance.
- Assume responsibility for all aspects of individual teaching loads, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Make self-available to staff at clinical agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance, based on course objectives.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed, providing additional support and guidance.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations, with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments, consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College, ensuring alignment with College goals and objectives.
- May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator, providing expertise and guidance to students.
- Keep course coordinators informed of all student and agency issues and concerns, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Work with College administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the College and student satisfaction rates.
- Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students, demonstrating excellence in customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
- Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem-solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
- Comply with applicable regulatory rules and standards, ensuring adherence to College policies and procedures.
- Reports to the Dean, Assistant Dean, or Course Coordinator, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Oregon.
- An IL nursing license will be required before accepting any clinical contract for a given session.
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care.
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose, with the desire to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community.
