Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Calibration Technician to provide support services to the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the periodic calibration of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) according to established schedules and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure TMDE is calibrated at appropriate intervals following the Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL) program.
  • Schedule and document calibrations using the Equipment Maintenance Data System (EMDS) and interface with the Base PMEL.
  • Notify users in advance of items due for calibration and maintain up-to-date status records for all equipment sent to PMEL or other approved calibration sources.
  • Perform EMDS maintenance, including online updates, deletions, insertions, and changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma with 4 years of experience or an associate degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Background check and Public Trust/NACI required.
  • Knowledge of personal computer software applications in the Windows environment and ability to apply standard computer operating procedures.
  • Experience performing routine updates and queries to database applications in stand-alone or client/server configurations.
  • Ability to comply with applicable codes and standards of contract and pass customer security requirements.
  • Ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as required.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team.
  • Ability to interact verbally and in writing with all levels of staff, government personnel, and management professionally.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.
