Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Full-time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to become a vital part of our healthcare team. This role is designed to provide exceptional care to patients undergoing infusion therapy.

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule, ensuring a work-life balance without the demands of weekends, on-call duties, or major holidays.

This role may be classified as Level 2 or Senior, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Role of the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)


Under general supervision, the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients, adhering to established national and company standards for specialty regulations.

The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of patient care and engage in quality improvement initiatives across the organization. Compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and promoting continuity of care in accordance with established standards and practices.
  • Assessing patient and family needs, providing education, and distributing instructional materials.
  • Preparing and administering therapies under the supervision of a physician.
  • Administering medications and blood products accurately, ensuring correct dosages, routes, and techniques.
  • Ensuring pre-authorization and obtaining necessary consent forms prior to therapy administration.
  • Facilitating dose adjustments by evaluating patient conditions, reviewing lab results, consulting treatment protocols, and discussing modifications with the physician.
  • Performing venipuncture, accessing implanted ports, and maintaining central line catheter devices.
  • Keeping precise documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
  • Applying knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position will possess the following qualifications:

Level 2:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program, with a BSN preferred.
  • Active RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.

Senior Level (in addition to Level 2 requirements):

  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
