Optician - Ophthalmology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Optician to join our Ophthalmology team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and dispensing Ophthalmic products. You will work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations of the optical shop and provide excellent customer service.

• Accurately interpret optical prescriptions and take measurements for fitting of eyewear.
• Perform final inspection of eyewear to American National Standards institute specifications.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all products and services promoted by the office.
• Responsible for contact lens training and ensuring contact lens fitting fees are charged when appropriate.
• Coordinate with the Optical Supervisor to maintain up-to-date, market-appropriate frame selection, inventory, and product offerings.
• Understand and correctly apply optical pricing formulas to products.
• Accurately calculate and document all required information on optical patient encounters.

• New York State Optician License Required.
• Prefer: Applied Science degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing; American Board of Opticianry Certification.
• Minimum of two years' experience in an optical setting as an optician apprentice or optician.
