Geotechnical Site Engineer

- Adhering to all safety protocols, including Farrell, OSHA, and site-specific regulations.
- This role will also aid the sales and engineering teams in enhancing their knowledge and the business, which includes:
- Developing geotechnical designs, cost assessments, and proposals based on project documentation interpretation.
- Assisting the Marketing and Business Development teams by participating in trade shows, conferences, and other promotional events.
- Delivering technical presentations to potential clients and facilitating educational training for Menard customers.
- Maintaining, reviewing, and updating technical expertise and knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and code requirements.
- Conducting and overseeing field quality control tests and maintaining production records.
- Creating and managing daily construction reports.
- Investigating and resolving drawing interpretation issues, conflicts, and errors.
- Performing basic field surveys, addressing geometry challenges, and preparing drawings/sketches to assist construction efforts.
- Drafting Requests for Information (RFIs) and aiding in the preparation of change order documentation and claim analysis.
- Ensuring all installations comply with Farrell's quality control standards.
- Preparing preliminary engineering and construction documents.
- Assisting with and/or conducting load testing.
- Collaborating with superintendents, foremen, and other field personnel.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- OSHA 30-hour Safety Certification.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year in civil engineering, surveying, or heavy construction.
- Exhibits initiative and self-motivation.
- Effective problem solver with a proactive attitude that achieves results.
- Understanding of fundamental geotechnical design and calculation principles.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to work diligently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly regarding the completion and documentation of all tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods at job sites or desks.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to navigate facilities in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Requires fine dexterity, handling, and repetitive motions of hands and feet.
- 50% overnight travel is necessary for this position.
