Job Overview

Position Summary - Starting pay of $23.68 per hour for first shift hours

The Production Stream Supervisor is tasked with managing and collaborating with the IVD division and its personnel.

This role involves overseeing production processes and ensuring quality assurance for all materials handled within the IVD division.

The supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for team members regarding inquiries about orders or any departmental concerns.

Key Responsibilities


• Oversee the maintenance of sewing machines and heat-sealing equipment.

• Conduct inspections of finished products.

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise.

• Assist in conducting inventory assessments.

• Facilitate training for new hires within the department.

• Supervise departmental staff and ensure effective personnel allocation and utilization.

• Provide direction, guidance, and support to employees in their daily tasks.

• Monitor and manage inventories of raw materials, supplies, and finished products as necessary.

• Compile production summaries and generate required documentation.

• Schedule preventive maintenance for machinery.

• Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the IVD Value Stream Manager or VP of Operations, as needed.

After 60 days in the role, the Production Stream Supervisor must demonstrate and maintain proficiency in the following areas:

1) Maintain hour-by-hour tracking boards according to standard procedures, setting goals by machine/flow, and effectively addressing issues to keep performance on track.
2) Manage the KPI board for shift performance in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity as per established standards.
3) Exhibit real-time problem-solving skills and root cause analysis through the 5 Whys and fishbone techniques to develop countermeasures for recurring issues.
4) When performance metrics are not met for Safety, Quality, Delivery, or Productivity, devise a clear action plan (who, what, by when, and the expected impact) to achieve the goals outlined on the KPI boards.
5) Successfully complete a Request for Lead Time in IVD using current data.

Qualifications and Experience

· High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Basic mathematical skills.
· Previous leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
· Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Skills and Knowledge

· Understanding of tow motor operations.
· Ability to interpret gauges, weight scales, and measuring tapes.
· Basic mechanical aptitude.
· Capability to operate various machinery.
· Knowledge of safety regulations.
· Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, heat sealers, grommeting machines, and rewinders.
· Familiarity with Six Sigma, CAPA, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

Physical Demands

This position requires the individual to stand for 8 or more hours daily. The ability to lift items over 30 lbs regularly and occasionally lift items exceeding 50 lbs is necessary. The role also demands standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching, and flexing for extended periods to complete required tasks.
