The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking a highly skilled IT Manager to lead a dynamic team of technical support staff. As the primary point of contact for technology services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to the campus community through a student-run call center and walk-up information desks.
The IT Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing information technology strategies, evaluating existing systems, and making recommendations for program enhancement. Additionally, the candidate will serve as the subject matter expert to unit leadership regarding information technology operations and functions.
This is a fixed renewable position with a salary grade of 27. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment with flexible work/life balance schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of technical support staff
- Develop and implement information technology strategies
- Evaluate existing systems and make recommendations for program enhancement
- Serve as the subject matter expert to unit leadership regarding information technology operations and functions
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience leading and directing technical support staff
- 3+ years of experience managing a Help Desk, including incident management systems and processes
- 2+ years of experience managing budgets and service level agreements
- 3+ years of experience working in a complex IT organization and building relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in information systems or related field
- Supervisory experience in a service desk, desktop support, or client services department
- Experience with call distribution and tracking systems
- Experience providing support for Microsoft 365 services
- Experience supporting Windows and Apple platforms, related desktop software, and enterprise applications
