Pacific Shipyards International is seeking a skilled Sandblaster/Painter to join our team. As a key member of our coatings department, you will be responsible for applying marine coatings to specified contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Apply coatings using conventional spray systems, airless spray systems, and plural spray systems.
- Safely operate various types of equipment and tools, including blast pots, spray guns, and sandblasting tools.
- Prepare surfaces for painting and blasting.
- Mix paints to desired colors and consistencies.
- Grind, sand, and polish surfaces as needed.
- Apply epoxy, polyurethane, and high solids coatings.
- Operate a man lift, work at heights, and swing stage training.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- SSPC C7 certification and/or C12/C14 certifications preferred.
- 1-2 years of marine-related experience.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and balance priorities.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee is repeatedly required to climb vertical ladders and regularly required to talk, hear, or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
