Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Painter to join our team. As a Painter, you will be responsible for applying coatings and finishes to metal components and finished products, ensuring a high-quality finish and meeting production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and carry out oral and written directions in English

• Close attention to detail

• Function with minimal supervision

• Set work priorities to meet production goals

• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues

• Meet minimum standards of safety and housekeeping

• Be compliant with company rules and conduct

• Mix coatings with thinner and catalyst to correct mixture

• Apply coatings with spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards

• Paint parts and understand acceptable quality of finish

• Follow procedures for quality, lasting paint surface

• Maintain spray equipment to operational standards

• Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedure

• Assist master painter on cleanup, staging parts, and delivering parts to different departments

Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English

• Ability to read English and Metric tape measures and use measuring devices

• Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards

• Ability to recognize quality expected and reproduce it

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations

• Must maintain a positive rating as a Painter

• Must be able to operate spray equipment in confined spaces

• Must be able to operate hand control crane

• Must have full knowledge of quality requirements to produce acceptable finish paint

• Must be able to retain information taught about chemicals and related items and the proper usage of the same

• Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards

• Be trained in Hazardous Materials Handling Operations with an annual refresher course

• GED or HS Diploma

• Six (6) months automotive-quality paint experience preferred or prior acceptable training

Work Environment:

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts

• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration

• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals

• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud and the air quality is dusty
