Position Overview:
As a Radiation Therapist, you will collaborate with physicians, medical physicists, and management to deliver ionizing radiation therapy to patients. This role requires a blend of scientific knowledge and technical expertise, along with effective patient communication to ensure high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret patient treatment plans and execute positioning and treatment delivery according to dosimetry specifications.
- Safely operate linear accelerators to administer prescribed doses under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist.
- Effectively use simulation equipment to replicate prescribed fields as directed.
- Independently manage treatment administration and daily responsibilities, including transportation, scheduling, and patient education.
- Work with department management to transition documentation systems to electronic medical records while adhering to established standards.
- Exhibit professional conduct that supports the well-being of radiation oncology patients.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A degree from an AMA-accredited School of Radiation Therapy.
- Clinical experience from an approved AMA School of Radiation Therapy.
- ARRT registration or eligibility; board certification is preferred.
- A valid State of Florida Therapy license.
- BLS Certification.
