Key Responsibilities- Product Display and Maintenance: Arrange, stock, and replenish display counters and cases with ice and seafood products, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organized display.
- Quality Control: Check and verify the freshness of seafood items in live tanks, removing any foul or spoiled products and rotating merchandise to ensure maximum freshness.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by orally communicating with customers and co-workers on seafood products, prices, and services, making recommendations on fish or seafood products to purchase, and handling customer service issues.
- Merchandise Processing: Weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machines, and wrapping machines, processing merchandise according to production guidelines and following established sanitation standards.
- Inventory Management: Receive and unload seafood delivery trucks, store products in designated areas, and maintain inventory of newly received merchandise, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and neat department, free from safety hazards, and report any hazards to management, exercising safe food handling practices and proper safety procedures when using equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age.
- Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of seafood preparation and cuisine, ability to display seafood in an attractive manner, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Frequent standing, walking, and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional pushing and pulling up to 100 pounds, and continuous standing on tile/concrete, walking on tile/concrete, and manual dexterity. May be exposed to loud noise, cluttered floor surfaces, toxic exposure, nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions.
