About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compounding Pharmacist to join our team at Mixlab, a leading veterinary compounding pharmacy in NY. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy and providing exceptional service to our customers and veterinarians.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for nonsterile compounding, ensuring accuracy and potency of medications.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in the compounding of preparations, packaging, and labeling of prescriptions, and prepackaging of bulk medications.
  • Perform compounding tasks, including weighing and measuring chemicals, and order entry.
  • Communicate with internal departments to update prescription orders, clarify prescriptions, and perform final checks on compounded medications.
  • Monitor inventory levels, receive new inventory, and maintain SDS and Certificates of Analysis.
  • Ensure environmental monitoring, training, and competency assessment testing are performed according to policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure the pharmacy meets goals and expectations each day.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to technicians and pharmacy associates on daily tasks and quality assurance processes.
  • Enforce robust quality assurance processes and perform Main Pharmacist Tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Licensed pharmacist in NY in good standing with all State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Formal training in non-sterile compounding or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in non-sterile compounding, with preference given to veterinary compounding experience.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with a desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
