ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Environmental Consultant to enhance our Site Investigation & Remediation division.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, strategize, and execute environmental assessment and remediation initiatives.
- Investigate relevant topics, outline project scopes, identify investigation sites, and innovate solutions.
- Assess client needs and create comprehensive plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and other essential documentation.
- Guide research teams in addressing intricate challenges.
- Analyze quality issues that may necessitate project adjustments and revise plans accordingly.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations at all levels.
- Establish and track budgets to evaluate project profitability.
- Act as a representative in discussions with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
- Foster client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to junior staff, ensuring technical accuracy in their work.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- In-depth knowledge of state regulatory frameworks, particularly regarding remediation standards.
- Ability to make prompt decisions on regulatory matters and respond effectively to client inquiries.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Commitment to mentoring junior colleagues and thriving in a collaborative environment.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Extensive expertise in site assessment, data analysis, and remediation methodologies.
- Experience managing contaminated sites and engaging with regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with urban site management and conducting environmental assessments.
- Experience in developing and executing Remedial Action Plans and related documents.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on remediation.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and annual refreshers are mandatory.
- Licensed Environmental Professional status or progress towards it is preferred.
