South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. As a Registered Nurse in our Operating Room, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct and indirect patient care across the age continuum, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Supervise and direct ancillary personnel in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the operating room.
- Participate in orientation of new staff and peer evaluation process, ensuring facility morale exemplifies the mission and values of the center.
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, physicians, patients, and family members, demonstrating highly effective communication skills.
- Review daily schedule and prepare cases based upon preference cards and specific patient care needs.
- Initiate physical and psycho/social assessment and pre-operative plan of care, identifying patient and verifying informed consent.
- Maintain a safe OR environment, adhering to all patient care safety requirements.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure with Texas State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of two years of experience required in the Operating Room or other critical care-nursing environment.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, with additional languages preferred.
- Must be computer literate with basic fundamental computer skills that are required to perform essential job-related duties.
