Our Perioperative Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive 12-week initiative tailored for registered nurses who are transitioning into the perioperative nursing specialty. This program is enriched by the support of experienced nurse educators and preceptors, employing a module-based educational approach along with simulation that caters to various adult learning preferences.
This position requires full-time commitment with 12-hour shifts, including weekend, on-call, and holiday obligations.
The Perioperative RN will be accountable for delivering safe, effective, and high-quality patient-centered care within the operating room, catering to diverse patient demographics. This pivotal role at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware, involves collaboration with various Nemours Children's Health facilities to maximize resources and achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; candidates with an Associate's degree must commit to obtaining a BSN within three years.
- A valid Delaware or compact RN license is mandatory.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within six months, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year.
- Candidates must apply for New Jersey and Pennsylvania licenses if not already acquired or covered by a compact license within six months.
