Job Summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a skilled Boom and Crane Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating boom and/or crane equipment to move heavy construction materials into specific areas of the yard or onto delivery trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate boom and/or crane equipment to move heavy construction materials, including rigging, planning, and hoisting.
  • Inspect and maintain boom/crane equipment to ensure safety and prevent damage.
  • Calculate boom/crane capacities and weights, and check clearances to prevent damage to buildings, hydro wires, and foundation of the machine.
  • Plan and pace work efficiently to meet daily, weekly, project, or team-related productivity goals.
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or coworkers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of boom and/or crane operation experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Boom or Crane Operator certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently and on occasion may be required to lift and carry, with assistance, up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to physically operate boom equipment, including climbing up and down into the cab, twisting torso for 360-degree visibility, and using arms to operate controls.
