Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Post-doctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the University of California San Francisco. The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of Principal Investigator Dr. Khaled Moussawi in the Neurology department.

Research Project

The research project involves using Transcranial Low-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (LIFU) for neuromodulation of the reward and motivation circuits in patients with substance use disorders. The research approach will involve EEG, fMRI, and cognitive and behavioral testing in collaboration with UCSF investigators from Neuroradiology, Psychiatry, and Neurosurgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments using LIFU and other neuromodulation techniques
  • Collect and analyze data using fMRI, EEG, and cognitive and behavioral testing
  • Collaborate with investigators from multiple departments to achieve research goals
  • Develop and maintain expertise in neuromodulation techniques and related research methods

Requirements

  • MD and/or PhD in Neuroscience, bioengineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience with fMRI methods and analyses, neuromodulation techniques, and quantitative skills
  • Strong clinical research background and ability to work in a team environment
