Job Summary:

Vision Point Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Tactical Military Equipment Painter to join our team at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Painting military and support equipment in support of the United States Marine Corps Corrosion Prevention and Control program.
  • Assessing equipment prior to recoating and determining the best way to complete the job, using various painting tools and requirements.
  • Proficiently performing surface preparation, including equipment wash procedures to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants.
  • Removing old layers of coatings from different types of surfaces using sand blasting and hand/power tool sanding without damaging the substrate.
  • Using specialized knowledge to determine the best types of coatings and coating techniques to use on a specific job.
  • Maintaining all safety standards throughout each job.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience in an applicable field.
  • Specialized knowledge of painting and coating techniques and tools.
  • Physical ability to remain standing for the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to prepare paints, thinners, dryers, etc. and clean/maintain spray painting equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing repair/refinishing processes.
  • Experience with surface preparation for automobiles and/or military equipment.
  • Ability to use selected vendor materials and general supplies efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Efficiency and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts when required, after proper training and certification.
  • Keeping work areas organized.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by conforming to all safety guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Demonstrating willingness to work with others in a team environment.
  • Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a government-run environment to reach a common goal.
  • Ability to gain DBIDS/CAC access to the military base.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Formal training in industrial painting.
  • Experience with primers, flat paints, and autobody repair (body putty application).

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA Safety Certificate.
  • Coating Application Specialist (CAS) Prep Course, (CAS) Level 1 Exam, (CAS) Level 2 Certification.
  • Industrial Security Professional Certification (ISP).
  • Forklift Certification.
