About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join WSP's Transportation Design Team as a Lead Civil Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading complex design tasks and projects, collaborating with clients, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to transportation, site development, and stormwater improvement projects.
  • Lead and coordinate design teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and prepare final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
  • Contribute to the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentor junior staff to help them grow in their careers.
  • Utilize relationships with clients to achieve WSP's business development goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • P.E. registration in Ohio or ability to obtain in 6 months.
  • 7+ years' experience in transportation/civil engineering.
  • Good technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading design tasks and managing junior design staff.
  • Proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience having led and mentored a team.
  • Experience in OpenRoads and Civil 3D.
  • Leadership experience working with ODOT and other local agencies.
  • Business development experience.
  • Active member of local professional organizations.
