Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our tax team as a Tax Intern. Our tax department plays a critical role in helping our internal stakeholders effectively manage their tax obligations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the preparation of tax compliance and provision engagements, including interacting with financial management and third-party service providers.
  • Assist with information gathering and work paper organization.
  • Apply problem-solving skills through research of tax laws, rules, and regulations and analyze their application to specific situations.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and individual initiative while working as a team member, building solid relationships with various team members across the Finance department.
  • Perform other tax compliance and administrative duties as assigned by management.
  • Manage multiple assignments in a team environment in-person and virtually.
  • Proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback.
  • Maintain flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • Be enrolled in a college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Be curious and try new things.
  • Learn about how Veolia WTS works as a business.
  • Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts, and other information.
  • Support research, analysis, and problem-solving using a variety of tools and techniques.
  • Produce high-quality work that adheres to relevant professional standards.
  • Keep up-to-date with technical developments, including advanced experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Organize, manipulate, and analyze data and information responsibly.
  • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise, and articulate manner - verbally and in materials produced.
  • Embrace different points of view and welcome opposing and conflicting ideas.
