Data Science Role Overview

As a Data Scientist at Siemens Energy, you will play a pivotal role in driving significant improvements in our manufacturing processes.

  • Drive Data Analysis and Modeling: Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights. Develop and implement predictive models and machine-learning algorithms to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Work with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to understand data needs and provide actionable insights. Communicate complex findings to non-technical partners.
  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality using data-driven approaches. Implement advanced analytics solutions for supervising and improving manufacturing performance.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Stay updated with the latest developments in data science and machine learning. Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to improve our analytical capabilities.
  • Ensure Data Quality: Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and security. Develop and maintain data management policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist with a strong preference in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy industry environment.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and big-data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze sophisticated situations.
  • Strong communication skills to explain sophisticated concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative team-player with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
