Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in a clinic setting, working under the supervision of licensed practitioners.
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.
  • Oversee appointment bookings and ensure timely flow of patients.
  • Perform various tasks, including vital sign collection, initial patient assessments, and coordination of patient transfers.
  • Administer medications, including IV push medications, and add medications to IV solutions under direct supervision.
  • Make arrangements for patient testing and admissions, and respond to incoming telephone calls.
  • Document patient information, including test results and examination findings, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain licensure and affiliations.
  • Follow Christus Health policies and procedures, including those related to HIPAA and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
  • Valid state license to practice nursing.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
