Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Urban Farmer. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained throughout our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead the quality team in conducting regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure that all products meet our quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of quality policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for production staff on quality and safety procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve quality-related issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and implement a robust hold and release program to ensure that all products meet our quality and safety standards.
  • Manage and maintain our microbiological programs to ensure that all products are safe for consumption.
  • Oversee the pest control program to ensure that our facilities are free from pests and contaminants.
  • Ensure that all internal and external product testing is conducted as required and per customer specifications.
  • Participate in state and federal inspections and external customer audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain customer COA based on established specifications.
  • Analyze customer complaints and develop responses to resolve issues.
  • Ensure that all required corrective actions are documented and tracked through completion.

Requirements:

  • College Diploma in Science or related field.
  • 5 years of food quality manufacturing experience or at minimum, 10 years of quality experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • USDA Plant experience is preferred.
  • Must have completed training in the SQF system.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to routinely lift and carry packaging weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to perform tasks in different working conditions, such as hot and cold environments.
  • Medically fit to handle minor exposure to chemical cleaning solutions.
  • Must wear assigned PPE and follow sanitation procedures.
  • At least 8 hours on feet standing or walking to work station.
