Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts assessments and provides treatment for individuals with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing challenges as directed by physician referrals.
2. Completes thorough evaluations based on physician recommendations utilizing appropriate assessment tools and methodologies.
3. Reviews patient histories to understand current diagnoses, previous medical conditions, and any relevant precautions.
4. Sets measurable objectives and formulates treatment plans aimed at helping patients achieve their highest potential in speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
5. Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of treatment plans, monitors patient progress towards goals, and adjusts objectives or interventions as necessary.
6. Communicates patient needs and advancements to the interdisciplinary treatment team, physicians, clients, and family members as appropriate.
7. Collaborates with medical professionals regarding patient assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning.
8. Maintains and submits all evaluation, treatment, and billing documentation in accordance with company policies, facility requirements, and regulatory standards.
9. Adheres to the standards outlined in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
10. Participates in internal staff development programs and meetings; pursues continuing education as mandated by company policy and regulations; and strives to enhance clinical skills.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid and unrestricted license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support or CPR certification in compliance with state regulations.
- At least one year of professional experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation methods related to complex neurological conditions is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
