Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Summit Materials. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of concrete produced within our division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing of concrete, including fresh and hardened properties, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used in production and evaluate raw materials to minimize product failure.
  • Monitor and test concrete performance during placement to identify potential issues.
  • Conduct plant inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate test results to QA Manager and Plant Manager to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues related to concrete performance.
  • Support Sales and Production departments in resolving quality-based customer queries and complaints.
  • Perform ASTM, ACI, and FDOT testing procedures and evaluations.
  • Evaluate product quality and performance to establish benchmarks for products and raw materials.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Certificate in a related field.
  • Technical knowledge and certifications, including ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I and ACI Strength Testing Technician Certification.
  • Local DOT Certifications.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and extended hours.
