About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Sacramento. As a key member of our Buildings + Places practice, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for various projects, including healthcare facilities, corporate offices, and high-tech clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop HVAC and plumbing systems for buildings, ensuring compliance with California Mechanical Code, Title 24, ASHRAE standards, and NFPA.
  • Evaluate and select standard engineering techniques and procedures to design and construct HVAC and plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to produce complete building designs, including architectural, structural, electrical, and technology systems.
  • Act as a discipline representative on projects, advising and reviewing correspondence prepared by junior team members.
  • Meet with clients, prepare proposals, and maintain good client relations.
  • Assist in project checking for quality control and switch between multiple projects daily.
Requirements
  • Substantial knowledge of California Mechanical Code, Title 24, ASHRAE standards, and NFPA.
  • Experience with analysis and layout of HVAC systems, hydronic piping, air distribution, and HVAC products and materials.
  • Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and act as a mechanical engineer point of contact.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
