Manufacturing Engineer Internship Opportunity

Internship DetailsThis 12-week summer internship is a full-time position from May through August 2025. As an intern, you'll gain relevant work experience, work alongside our top performers, and receive competitive pay. You'll also participate in an orientation, job walks, and a community service event.
Key Responsibilities- Shadow project organization, estimating, manufacturing, and LEAN processes.
- Participate in learning safety and quality programs while assisting other Metalworks roles executing Safety and Quality events.
- Assist the office leadership with researching different operational challenges with the facility and grounds, including functional changes throughout the manufacturing processes.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, or Business with an interest in Mechanical Contracting.
- An appetite to learn.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with a team.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to develop and foster strong professional relationships.
- Self-motivation and awareness.
- Basic level of business acumen.
- This position will work out of our Lawrence, KS office.
- Frequent use of a computer, including keyboard, viewing monitor for extended periods, and physically moving throughout the office.
- Occasional day trips between construction job sites, offices, and manufacturing facilities.
- The range for this position has been established at $18 to $23 and is U.S. Engineering's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
