The Respiratory Therapist at University Hospitals plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering respiratory therapy services to patients with a range of respiratory conditions. This includes mechanical ventilation, medicated aerosol delivery, airway clearance therapy, patient monitoring, oxygen and humidity therapy, and special procedures such as CPR and bronchoscopy.
Responsibilities:
Perform basic competencies within orientation and provide satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.
Conduct mechanical ventilation, medicated aerosol delivery, airway clearance therapy, patient monitoring, oxygen and humidity therapy, and special procedures as required.
Maintain accurate records of patient treatment and progress.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Respiratory or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with license to practice in Ohio upon hire.
At least one year of recent experience in respiratory therapy is preferred.
Previous work in a hospital setting is also preferred.
Working Conditions:
The Respiratory Therapist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, frequently standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues is essential.
