Job Summary

As an MRI Technologist at Advocate Health, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance equipment to perform diagnostic procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and magnetic safety. You will work closely with physicians and patients to ensure accurate and effective imaging results.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate MRI equipment to perform diagnostic procedures
- Position patients and select proper scanning factors
- Prepare and administer contrast media under physician direction
- Post-process images and accurately identify and label them

Requirements

- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registration and certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 2 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and magnetic hazards as well as blood and body fluids
