Role Responsibilities:The Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing initial levels of patient testing and administrative duties that support the clinical operations within the UNC Healthcare System.
- Work Schedule: Wednesday to Tuesday, 9 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Assist in educating Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, as well as training new staff.
- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory section or specific work area.
- Participate in team projects or complete individual assignments as required.
Conduct a variety of routine and standardized tests utilizing established techniques and equipment. Prepare reagents and assist in the formulation of standard and control materials.
Qualifications:Applicants should possess an Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technician, Chemical Science, or Biological Science.
- If holding an Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technician, candidates must be ASCP or AMT Board of Certification eligible and obtain BOC certification within one year.
- If possessing an Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) Board of Certification (BOC) is required.
