About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Anesthetist) to join our team at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. As a key member of our anesthesia team, you will be responsible for providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures, including complex cases.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, including pediatric, ENT, OB/GYN, orthopedic, and GI procedures.
  2. Develop and implement anesthesia plans, including pre-anesthesia preparation, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence.
  3. Monitor patients' fluid loss, determine the need for parenteral fluids, and adjust the administration of anesthetic agents as needed.
  4. Supervise and monitor the quality of anesthesia care provided by student nurse anesthetists and peers.
  5. Participate in educational programs to improve anesthesia nursing practice and contribute to the implementation of the Anesthesia Performance Improvement Program.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Nurse Practitioner and be a certified registered nurse anesthetist with current, active, full, and unrestricted licensure as a professional nurse in the specialty of Nurse Practitioner or related specialty.

You must also have at least one year of professional nursing experience, including performing examination and assessments of assigned patients, obtaining and recording health histories of patients, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests for patients, and prescribing a variety of medications to patients.
