Overview:
The Department of Agricultural Sciences is on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join our team as an Instructor in Agribusiness. This role is integral to our expanding Agribusiness Program, which currently serves over 140 undergraduate students. Our department offers a comprehensive undergraduate degree in Agribusiness alongside a Master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics.
The Instructor will be responsible for delivering the undergraduate curriculum, emphasizing the application of economic principles to real-world challenges in agriculture, agribusiness, finance, and natural resource economics.
Our Agribusiness program is supported by a team of nine tenure-track faculty members. This position is a non-tenure, 9-month appointment, with opportunities for advancement to senior and principal instructor roles.

Our institution is recognized as a Land Grant university, situated in a picturesque location that enhances both teaching and research experiences. The expansive campus is dedicated to agricultural education and research, contributing to our reputation as one of the nation’s top public universities.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional duties include the development and delivery of undergraduate courses related to agribusiness and agricultural economics. The teaching load will typically encompass three to four undergraduate classes each semester.
Courses to be taught include:
- Agricultural Economics
- Agriculture and Society
- Marketing
- Agricultural Sales
The successful candidate will also oversee internships and engage in activities aimed at enhancing student recruitment and retention.
Additionally, there is an option to teach summer courses for extra compensation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in agricultural business, agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, or a closely related field. A robust understanding of undergraduate agricultural economics and agribusiness subjects is essential.
Successful applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, possess excellent communication skills, and have a passion for mentoring undergraduate students. Experience in agricultural production, business management, finance, marketing, or sales is highly desirable. This position also offers the potential for pursuing a Ph.D. while honing instructional capabilities.
