Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $113,000 to $154,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This position falls within the Federal Government Grade 14 pay scale.

Job Description

This exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Aeronautical Information Specialist. As a key member of our Directorate, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating programs related to Aeronautical Information Services.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Developing, maintaining, and revising terminal/enroute instrument flight procedures (IFPs), ensuring they are coordinated and integrated in the National Airspace System (NAS) to provide safe operation of aircraft;
  • Designing, compiling, and maintaining aeronautical charts, related products, and aeronautical information;
  • Serving as project manager for multidisciplinary charting and production activities, including chairing working groups and establishing top-level production strategies and program objectives;
  • Providing technical direction, mentoring, and on-the-job training to less experienced staff, while evaluating work in progress and at the conclusion of critical functions and production cycles;

As a senior technical specialist, you will also be expected to develop new methods, applications, approaches, tools, and agency policies and guides, and advise on the development of automation applications and processes by identifying requirements, recommending priorities, and suggesting adaptations and improvements to systems.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must have at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG/GS-13 level. Your experience should have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, which includes developing, maintaining, and revising IFPs, designing, compiling, and maintaining aeronautical charts, related products, and aeronautical information, and serving as project manager for multidisciplinary charting and production activities.
