School Counselor

The Brandon School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Counselor to join our team. As a Student Support Services Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver mental health counseling, academic guidance, and intervention to students
- Facilitate assessment and provide knowledge about State Assessments, College Board, and MDE programs
- Assist students in developing a post-secondary plan, also known as an Educational Development Plan
- Monitor students' overall academic performance and collaborate with staff members to develop necessary academic supports
- Consult with individual students/parents to discuss academic gaps and research potential supports or interventions
- Connect students and families with community resources through referrals
- Assist students in developing healthy coping strategies for successful school and life transitions
Requirements:
- Fully licensed Counselor in the State of MI (LPC) or Limited License Counselor (LLC)
- School Counseling Endorsement
- Knowledge about career planning and programs associated with career planning
Working Conditions:
- Per Building Schedule; Monday - Friday
- Ideal candidate available for the entire school year, but may consider someone available for less time
