Metal Extraction Specialist

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

We are seeking a skilled Metal Extraction Specialist to join our team at our underground Zinc operation. Located within a 2-hour drive of The Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario shoreline, and the Adirondack Mountains, our site offers a unique blend of natural beauty and exciting career opportunities.

The successful candidate will report to the VP of Operations and be responsible for managing quality assurance/quality control for the assay lab and mill operations.

• Monitors process in the mill to maintain or increase production
• Collaborates with Mine and Shaft Departments to maximize opportunities and minimize production interruptions
• Oversees mill maintenance planning
• Identifies and troubleshoots issues in the production process

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong understanding of milling, flotation, and maintenance operations. A working knowledge of PC software, including word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation software, is also required.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing chemical inventory and ordering
• Metallurgical accounting and control of material inventories
• Providing technical assistance to mill operators, millwrights, and lab technicians
• Running tests on new ore bodies and chemicals to achieve optimal recoveries

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• At least 5 years' experience in mill operations, mill maintenance, and production
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid driver's license
