Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Materials Planner to join our team at VVF InterVEST, LLC. As a key member of our Operations department, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of materials needed for our antiperspirant and bar soap departments, as well as the production scheduling of those departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement:
    • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials and components.
    • Manage material purchase orders, update pricing, and confirm order acknowledgments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
    • Coordinate material logistics, including domestic and international purchases, to ensure timely delivery of inventory.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers to ensure product availability and stay informed of changes in market conditions.
    • Ensure vendors meet specification requirements and deliver products within approved GMP Quality specifications.
  • Planning:
    • Update production schedules as needed based on production, customer demand changes, and material availabilities to ensure optimal inventory levels.
    • Confirm accurate stock levels of all raw materials and packaging components to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
    • Lead departments' planning meetings and inform Operations of schedule changes to ensure seamless production operations.
    • Communicate new sales orders to the Operations team and ensure the production schedule can meet lead times.
    • Anticipate planning based on customer prior year purchases and current stock levels to ensure optimal inventory management.
    • Communicate with customers regarding production reporting, forecast demand, purchase orders, lead time on finished goods, and other relevant information.
  • Warehouse and Logistics:
    • Manage inventory change control, financial inventory analysis, and ensure proper distribution of inventory for discontinued, damaged, and/or obsolete items.
    • Communicate daily with the Warehouse on receipts of materials and transfers of released Finished Goods to customers' distribution centers.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Operations department.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent working experience
  • Experience: Experience in Production Planning, Material Management, and Purchasing
  • Skills: Proficient in computer applications such as relational databases, Microsoft Dynamics GP or SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), and other related software
  • Other Requirements: Broad knowledge of state-of-the-art supply chain management initiatives and programs, capacity to implement materials management systems, strong negotiation skills, detail-oriented, excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Purchasing experience in a consumer goods manufacturing environment
  • Production Planning experience in a consumer goods manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
  • Requires sufficient physical ability to walk, stand, and sit; to frequently bend, squat, crouch, kneel, twist, and make other movements in the performance of daily activities; to reach outward, and lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amounts of weight
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment; exposure to dust and noise
  • Sitting for periods of time working in front of a computer screen
