POSITION SUMMARY
The CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LABORATORY NURSE is dedicated to the care of patients undergoing various cardiac procedures, including diagnostic catheterizations and interventional treatments. This role involves the safe operation of specialized medical equipment, assisting in both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac interventions, and providing comprehensive patient care throughout the procedure. The nurse will work closely under the supervision of a physician and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory management.

POSITION DETAILS
We are looking for a qualified Cath Lab RN for a 10-hour day shift position, working four days a week on a 13-week contract basis. Extensions may be available based on performance and facility needs.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, holding a Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of two years of experience as a cardiac catheterization laboratory nurse in a clinical environment is required.
CREDENTIALS
Advanced CPR certifications such as BLS and ACLS are mandatory.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work may occur in various healthcare settings, with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
- Follow nursing policies and procedures of the client facility.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
- Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Effectively communicate with relevant personnel.
- Provide care in a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Assess and adjust the care plan based on patient responses.
- Conduct continuous nursing assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs.
- Deliver patient services with respect for cultural diversity and individual rights.
- Advocate for patient rights regarding advance directives and organ donation.
- Administer care to patients before, during, and after procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Perform non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Support physicians during invasive procedures, including cardiac catheterizations and pacemaker insertions.
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and training.
- Comply with ethical standards and nursing practice guidelines.
- Be prepared to float to different facilities as needed.
- Be available for on-call duties.
