ELD Instructor

Position Overview:
As an ELD Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering specialized English language development instruction to students identified as needing support in their language acquisition journey. This role involves collaboration with various educational stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the ELD program.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instructional strategies tailored to the needs of Emergent Multilingual Learners (EML).
- Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and fellow educators to address the unique requirements of EML students.
- Serve as a vital resource for information regarding cultural and linguistic diversity, English language development, and the ELD instructional framework.
- Engage with parents and the community to explain the ELD program and its benefits.

Qualifications:
- Must possess Maryland teacher certification in ESOL/ELD.
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition methodologies and practices.
- Ability to foster a supportive environment for students adjusting to academic and cultural settings.

Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in a language other than English is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team to enhance student learning outcomes.

Educational Background:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
