Dispatcher - Part-Time
About the Role:We are seeking a reliable and customer-service focused individual to join our team at Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency (aTa Bus). As a key member of our operations, you will play a critical role in providing safe and reliable public transportation services to the community.
Key Responsibilities:- Communications: Effectively communicate through radio, telephone, and computer equipment to provide assistance to drivers and the public.
- Route Management: Direct and monitor vehicle routes to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Traffic Updates: Communicate traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, and weather conditions to support safe travel.
- Team Liaison: Coordinate work assignments with drivers and act as a liaison between drivers and mechanics.
- Ride Scheduling: Schedule rides and answer questions related to our services.
- Software Management: Manage software that tracks vehicles to optimize route efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate files and records.
- Information Sharing: Provide timely information to internal teams.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent plus four years of customer service experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and phone skills; ability to work independently; excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain high standards; effective time management skills; must be self-motivated.
Our Dispatcher works from our Manhattan location, serving Manhattan, Junction City, Ft. Riley, and parts of Pottawatomie County.
Estimated Salary:$16.50/hour (based on skills and experience)
