The Albany Medical Center is currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join its team as a Med Surg Float Pool Nurse. This role will require the individual to work in various units, including the Emergency Department, Medicine, and Post-Surgical Units.
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 per year (dependent on experience), plus benefits.
Responsibilities:
As a Med Surg Float Pool Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing patient care throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge. This includes:
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Directing and guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Requirements;
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A graduate degree from an accredited academic program in nursing.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Telemetry or ICU settings.
- Ability to continuously improve job performance through ongoing education and training.
- Possession of knowledge about quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, with the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
