Job Summary:

As an Optometrist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality eye care to our patients. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and treating a wide range of visual problems, from common issues to complex conditions. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat visual diseases, disorders, and deficiencies.
  • Prescribe and fit contact lenses to meet the unique needs of our patients.
  • Determine the visual requirements of partially sighted patients and prescribe low-vision aids to improve their quality of life.
  • Use diagnostic pharmaceutical agents to detect and diagnose ocular pathology, and work with our team to develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in departmental and educational meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in optometry.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry.
  • Minimum of one year of experience or successful completion of an accredited optometry residency program.
  • Licensed Optometrist in the state where care is provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Accredited residency in Optometry.
Work Environment:
  • Primary Location: Largo Medical Center.
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, with option to work Saturdays on a PRN basis.
