**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Biology (Non-Majors) Assistant Professor to join our faculty at the Los Rios Community College District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in your regular teaching field. You will also be expected to help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content and contribute to the development of innovative methods of instruction.

The department's primary focus is on excellence in teaching lower division students. Our students are the reason we are here. We have an excellent reputation in the community and within the community college system. Our department works together as a supportive team and family. Our courses average 25-30 students per section, allowing instructors to work closely with students. We constantly strive to improve the quality of our instruction. We are eager to add student-centered faculty members who are dedicated to biology and education.

Salary Information: The initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract. For this position, the estimated annual salary is $73,471 - $113,862, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:** Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, assess student learning outcomes, maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in your regular teaching field, help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content, develop and implement innovative methods of instruction, and contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment tools. You will also be expected to participate in faculty governance, serve on college committees, and assist with articulation and curriculum development and review.
