Key Responsibilities:
The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for:

  • Designing, executing, and evaluating educational programs that promote the long-term development of children.
  • Utilizing established curricula to create engaging lesson plans while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; candidates with an Associate's Degree currently pursuing a Bachelor's will also be considered.
  • A minimum of one year of practical experience in a nurturing educational setting.
  • At least one year of experience working under qualified supervision with children of various ages and developmental stages.
  • A valid certification in pediatric first aid and CPR.
  • In-depth knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
  • The ability to recognize and respond to children's needs, including identifying signs of illness and safety hazards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, and emotional maturity.
  • Compliance with mandated reporter training and child protection clearances as required by law.
  • A commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
