Role Overview

The Ambulatory Care Coordinator position at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) plays a vital role in facilitating seamless patient flow and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, this dynamic professional will provide administrative/clerical functions alongside clinical responsibilities as a medical assistant.

Job Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage the clinic's daily schedule, ensuring timely appointment bookings and minimizing wait times.
  • Actively communicate with patients, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Assist healthcare providers with tasks such as rooming patients, taking vital signs, and executing insurance verifications.
  • Accurately document patient interactions and data within the electronic health record system.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, sending templated letters, and making follow-up calls.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Requirements

A successful candidate for the Ambulatory Care Coordinator role must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or one year of previous experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or Red Cross is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and verbal communication in English; fluency in a second language is desired.
