The City of Woodstock is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to contribute to the Engineering Division. This role involves aiding in the planning, design, construction, and upkeep of the City’s public infrastructure and capital projects, as well as supporting project management under the guidance of the City Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the planning and design of public infrastructure projects.
  • Conducting engineering reviews and providing recommendations.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure project alignment with city goals.
  • Supporting the management of capital improvement projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  2. A minimum of two years of experience in civil engineering plan review, design, or a closely related area.
  3. A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  2. Experience in a municipal or public works/public utilities environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this full-time, exempt position is anticipated to be between $81,139.03 and $89,252.80, based on qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered, including group health insurance and IMRF pension.
