About the Role:

Tex-Star Service is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Outside Plant Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing fiber splicing and cable installation work in various settings, including aerial and underground environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Splice overhead, underground or submarine multiple conductor cables with guidance
  • Climb utility poles or towers, utilize truck-mounted lift-buckets or descend into underground vaults
  • Test (traces or phase out) each conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cables using test lamps or bell systems
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, digital drawings, maps, blueprints, diagrams, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 0-1 year of experience as a fiber splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations while working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs
